As a 501(C)(3), we are a non-profit that supports enrichment opportunities for our students both in and outside the classroom.
WHAT IS SAF?
The El Cerrito High School Student Activity Fund (SAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports enrichment opportunities for our students both in and outside the classroom. From dance to mountain biking, water polo to debate, this organization allows parents and community members to raise money for activities that the school district is unable to fund. Under our umbrella, groups called Sponsored Group Committees (SGCs) fundraise for specific activities.
This is the agreement that the SGCs have with the Student Activity Fund. Those groups currently include:
Archiving Project, Alumni Scholarship Fund, Aquatics, Boys Soccer, Friends of El Cerrito Baseball, Friends of El Cerrito Forensics, Friends of Girls Soccer, Girls Softball, Girls Volleyball, Grad Night, Investing in Academic Excellence, Mountain Biking, X-Country Track & Field, Ultimate Frisbee.
We also manage funds for dance, gardening, radio, theater arts, wrestling and more! We have also supported fundraising events, like the 2023 Jam for the JMP which benefited the James Morehouse Project, the ECHS student wellness center.
Finally, we make grants to anyone in the ECHS community, focused on supporting new and ongoing student activities. Recent grants have included funding books for a ninth grade English class, decorations for Multicultural Night and rocket launches for a student rocketry club.
DONATIONS
Your donations make a difference in the programs that we can offer at the school. You can designate your donation to any of the activities we support, or directly to SAF itself. Find out more about matching gifts.
